Project: Surf Your Mind
A free participatory project open to everyone.
World Wide 2012

We invite you to set off on a journey to the most amazing place you’ll ever visit: your subconscious mind.

Become a Mindsurfer and get your creative work published in Seymour Magazine.  Selected submissions will also be considered for inclusion in an exhibition that will take place in Paris late November/early December 2012.

All submissions will be reviewed by Alix Janta-Polczynski co-founder of Art Barter and Melissa Unger, founder of Seymour. Deadline for submissions is: November 1, 2012

How to participate:

One: Set aside some time during which you will be undisturbed. Close your eyes, relax your grip on your usual active thinking and let your thoughts just flow, soon you’ll be roaming the edges of your subconscious mind.  There is no ‘right’ way to access your subconscious, just do what feels natural. Two: Pick up a pencil (or anything that leaves a mark) and see what flows out of you: poem, lyrics, anything written or any two dimensional visual art that you can email us an image of.

Three: Email us at contactseymour@gmail.com:

-A photo of what you created

-A photo of you with your eyes closed

-A few sentences about yourself and the date, time & location in which the work was created

ps: Initially, we just need you to email us a photo of what you create. But, if it is chosen for the exhibit we might ask you to lend us the original, so please keep it in a safe place until we contact you.

Four: Please don’t try to make the results ‘good’ that defeats the purpose. Just unplug your conscious mind, go surfing on your brain waves and see what floats by.  Please feel free to paint, draw or otherwise render an image from one of your dreams, that counts too!
